The 2-month milestones
Around now most babies smile at people, calm when spoken to or picked up, watch you as you move, and hold the head up in tummy time.
Vaccine day
Expect brief crying, extra sleepiness or mild fussiness for a day or so afterward — commonly seen. Your pediatrician will tell you what's expected and what's not.
Smoother movements
Jerky newborn movements are giving way to smoother arm and leg motion.

When to check in
After vaccines: fever above 104°F, crying inconsolably for 3+ hours, or anything that worries you — call your pediatrician; that's what they're for.
